The Real Competition

I know we are just a wee bit centered on our World Race and book launch, but it has now come to my attention that there is other competition on facebook and blogs. I’m not talking about competition from Jack and Mary and their ’29 A-model, or Clay and Mark in their ’32 Ford, or even John and Bill in their ’51 Chrysler, I’m talking here about Kate and Williams’ royal wedding! Somehow without checking I am sure their facebook and blog are getting many more hits than ours. I even read it in the International Herald Tribune. And as time gets closer who will remember that we finish the U.S. leg of our World Race just as they get ready to say, “I do.” Well, let me tell you, our send off was grand. We had a band (that permitted our grandchildren to join) and book signing with some 65 friends, many dressed in ’60s garb in honor of Stewball. I have photos to prove it and we even know all the people who were at our event, so there! Eat your heart our Kate and William.

Leaving for the road to Paris on Monday,

Jan and Ed

About ejhowle23

Authors and adventurers, participated in the World Race 2011, an automobile rally from New York to Paris, crossing three continents and 14,000 land miles. Following much the same route as the setting for our debut novel, The Long Road to Paris. This blog describes our own adventures and challenges. And now you can follow our Bahamas sailing adventure that provides the setting for our second novel, Night Watch. Our rally, the African Safari Challenge, crossed five countries in South Africa in May 2014 and in 2015 we participated in the second Trans-American rally this time from Nova Scotia to San Francisco. Next month we will travel 28 days around Australia with friends from previous rallies. Australia is over. Now on to S. America for the Rally of the Incas.
