Day 1. No rallying today, a convoy out of NY City-well, sort of, our leader-and his navigator- “got distracted” and took a wrong turn. Some of us stayed on the route but those who followed the leader had an aborted trip up the NJ side of the Hudson and met us later on the road. Is this sign of things to come? Lost in NY is different from lost in China! Lets hope we get the kinks worked out now.
At the end of the day, a group from the Western NY VW club met us at the Pierce Arrow museum, brought their cars and a rose-NY state flower which I will put in my vase tomorrow. Sorry I can’t post all the photos. No time right now.
As usual, Ed drove most of the day but near the end I drove. I have already gotten the nickname “Miss pedal-down”. I don’t drive that fast, I just wanted to get into the hotel for before the evening activities. This was definitely too long a day for us. Hence posting on the morning of day 2. We have learned that part of our rally each day will be finding the “solution” to a set of questions. I now am sorry I didn’t up grade to a smart phone but I used our secret source, since we were told we can use any technology available, just like they used “modern technology’ in 1908. So we did get all the answers, but I think everyone else did too. So the only one who didn’t get all the points for the day, was the driver-who shall remain unnamed-who got a ticket for talking on his cell phone. This is a definite no-no in the State of NY!
What will the road bring today?
